Module Three
Performance Objectives:
At the end of the third module, faculty members will be able to:
- Download and view the WhatsApp app.
- Define the WhatsApp app and discuss its importance as an instructional tool that can be used in or outside the classroom.
- Send voice messages by using the WhatsApp app.
- Demonstrate the WhatsApp app by chatting with their students.
Standards:
- Standard 1: Evaluate and use the WhatsApp app to support and facilitate the learning process.
- Standard 2: Design and develop student learning activities that involve using communication skills.

What is the WhatsApp app?
According to WhatsApp website, WhatsApp a platform mobile messaging app which allows you to exchange messages without having to pay for SMS. WhatsApp application is available for variety of smartphone devices such as iPhone, BlackBerry, Android, and Nokia. There is no cost to message and stay in touch with your friends. In addition to basic messaging WhatsApp users can create groups and share with other unlimited images, video and audio media messages.
WhatsApp app Features:
- No Cost: once you and your friends download the application, you can use it to chat as much as you want. Send a million messages a day to your friends for free!
- Multimedia: share video, images, and voice notes with your friends and contacts.
- Group Chat: enjoy group conversations with your contacts; add or remove group participants, change group subject and set a group icon.
- Personal: set a profile photo which will be shown to all your contacts
- No Need to Log In/Out: No more confusion about getting logged off from another computer or device. With push notifications WhatsApp is always on and always connected.
- No Need to Add Buddies: your address book is used to automatically connect you with your contacts. Your contacts who already have WhatsApp app will be automatically displayed under Favorites, similar to a buddy list.
- Offline Messages: even if you miss your push notifications or turn off your iPhone, WhatsApp will save your messages offline until you retrieve them during the next app use.
- Much more: share location and places, exchange contacts, custom wallpaper, custom notification sounds, landscape mode, message timestamps, email chat history, broadcast messages and media to many contacts at once.

- download WhatsApp on you smart device.
- Review it.
- Apply what you learned from the "How to send voice messages" tutorial with your current students.

Discussion/self-introduction
Faculty members will use whatsApp's "chat" and "voice messages" features to post their self-introduction and sharing their opinions about using the WhatsApp app as an instructional tool that can be used in or outside the classroom with the trainer (one-to-one)
